Instructions
Mix semolina with water in a microwave-safe bowl. Let it soak for about 10 minutes.
Microwaving the Vegetables: In another microwave-safe bowl, add a tablespoon of oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chillies, and onions. Microwave on high for 2 minutes until the onions are soft.
Cooking the Semolina: Add the soaked semolina, turmeric, salt, and sugar to the vegetable mixture. Mix well and microwave on high for 3-4 minutes. Stir halfway through.
Add lemon juice and garnish with fresh coriander. You can also add boiled peas and carrots for a nutritious twist.
Notes
Consistency Check: If the Upma seems dry, add a little water. If too moist, microwave for an additional minute.
Flavor Variations: Try adding ginger or garlic for an extra kick.
Serving Suggestions: Serve hot with coconut chutney or yogurt.
