It’s perfect for those who are looking for easy recipes that don’t compromise on taste or health. And, if you’re intrigued by vegetarian recipes that offer a punch of protein and fiber, you’re in for a treat!
What You’ll Need
Before we dive into the magical cooking process, let’s get our ingredients ready:
•200 gm Button Mushrooms, cleaned with a damp cloth
•200 gm Green peas, fresh or frozen
•1 tablespoon Canola oil
•1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
•2 teaspoons Coriander powder
•1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
•2 Dried red chilies
•½ teaspoon Salt, adjust to taste
A Little Prep Goes a Long Way
1.If using frozen peas, thaw them. For fresh peas, a quick boil until tender will do.
2.Chop the mushrooms into bite-sized pieces. Remember, we’re not washing them to avoid sogginess, just a gentle wipe or peel is perfect.
Let’s Get Cooking!
Step 1: Flavor Infusion
Heat your pan over medium heat; add the canola oil, followed by mustard seeds and dried red chillies. Wait for the seeds to start popping – that’s your cue to add in the peas and mushrooms.
Step 2: The Masala Magic
As the mushrooms start to soften and embrace the peas, sprinkle in the coriander powder, turmeric, and salt. Stir well to ensure every piece is beautifully coated with the spices.
Step 3: Simmer to Perfection
Reduce the heat to low and let the masala simmer gently for 2-3 minutes. This is where all the flavors come together, creating a symphony in your pan.
Step 4: Garnish and Serve
Finish off by garnishing with fresh coriander leaves. Serve your Mushroom Matar Masala hot and enjoy the explosion of flavours with every bite!
