Easy Milk Powder Gulab Jamun Recipe: Perfect for Diwali and Beyond
Gulab Jamun, a classic delight in Indian cuisine, is especially popular during festive occasions like
Diwali. This recipe simplifies the traditional process by using milk powder, making it a standout choice for those looking to prepare it quickly without sacrificing authenticity. Ideal for millennials and seasoned cooks alike, this Easy Milk Powder Gulab Jamun recipe ensures you can whip up a beloved Indian sweet with minimal fuss.
Ingredients: Simplified for Your Convenience
For the Jamuns:
•100 gm milk powder
•30 gm all-purpose flour (maida)
•1 pinch baking powder
•1 1/2 tablespoon ghee
For the Sugar Syrup:
•150 gm sugar
•2 cups water
Instructions: A Step-by-Step Guide to Sweet Success
Step 1: Mixing the Dough
Begin by combining milk powder, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and ghee in a bowl. Knead these ingredients into a soft, smooth dough. If it’s too dry, a splash of milk can help achieve the perfect texture. This dough forms the base of your Gulab Jamuns, ensuring they are soft and spongy.
Step 2: Shape and Fry the Jamuns
Carefully divide the dough into 15 smooth balls, ensuring there are no cracks to keep them from absorbing the syrup later. Heat oil in a pan over medium-low heat and fry these dough balls until they’re evenly golden brown. It’s important to maintain the temperature to prevent them from burning.
Step 3: Crafting the Sugar Syrup
Simultaneously, prepare the syrup by boiling sugar and water until it becomes sticky. A simple touch test between your fingers will tell you when it’s done. This syrup will sweeten and moisten the jamuns thoroughly.
Step 4: Soak and Serve
Once fried, immerse the warm jamuns into the hot syrup. Let them soak for at least one hour to fully absorb the flavors. This step is crucial for achieving the lush, syrupy texture that Gulab Jamuns are famous for.
Serve Up Some Sweetness
These Milk Powder Gulab Jamuns are best served warm, making them a comforting treat for any festive occasion. They are perfect for Diwali celebrations, where sweets play a central role in the festivities. Easy to make and delicious to eat, these treats are sure to be a hit with your guests.
