Ingredients: Prep Your Pantry
To make this quick Chilli Paneer recipe, you’ll need:
•Paneer: Cut into small cubes (1 * 1/2 inch)
•Oil: For deep frying
•For Sautéing:
•1 tablespoon oil
•Garlic, finely chopped
•Ginger, finely chopped
•Chilies, chopped
•Onion, chopped
•Capsicum, chopped
•Soya sauce
•Sugar
•Corn flour
•Water (5 tablespoons)
For the Batter:
•Flour: Your choice (commonly all-purpose flour)
•Seasonings: Such as salt and pepper
•Water: To mix
Instructions: Let’s Cook
Step 1: Prepare the Batter and Paneer
Mix flour, seasonings, and enough water to form a smooth batter. Submerge the paneer cubes in the batter and let them marinate for about 10 minutes. This step ensures that the paneer absorbs all the flavors and has a crispy exterior once fried.
Step 2: Fry the Paneer
Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Once hot, carefully add the battered paneer cubes and fry until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Step 3: Sauté the Vegetables
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan. Add the finely chopped garlic, ginger, chilies, and onion. Sauté for a minute before adding the capsicum. The key here is to cook them just enough so they retain a slight crunch.
Step 4: Bring It All Together
Mix 5 tablespoons of water with the corn flour to create a slurry. Pour this into the pan along with soya sauce and sugar. Stir well until the sauce thickens. Then, add the fried paneer cubes, tossing everything together so the paneer is evenly coated with the spicy sauce.
Step 5: Serve Hot
Your Chilli Paneer is now ready to be served. This dish goes well with fried rice or noodles, making it a complete meal that is both fulfilling and irresistibly tasty.
